I went here. It's depressing to see even from the air how much has changed. The Texas countryside to the east, and a fence from which you could reach through and pick dewberries? GONE. Those trees to the south of the school? GONE. The paved jogging path that was recently installed when I went there? GONE.

Walmart,

This could've been awesome, but it was built right about the time Walmart was in the midst of "get rid of SKUs" phase, so the general merchandise section went to crap (nicer store appearance overall, tho) and the grocery section is rather forgettable. It didn't even offer rotisserie chickens at a timely time until months later.

This building once housed the famous library "stacks" section, a maze of laddres and catwalks housing student theses and other documents unlikely to ever see the light of day. Today, it has been remodelled, and now houses special collections.
Hotard Hall,

Hotard Hall was the tiniest dorm on campus. Poor air-conditioning and trough-style communal bathrooms made it the least desirable place to live on campus besides the Corps dorms. It was converted to office space in 2006.

This restaurant used to be Two Pesos, a cheap taco bar fashioned in the style of the more familiar, Taco Cabana. Many old dorm-bound Ags lament the day Two Pesos closed.
Bottlecap Alley,

Every square inch of this alley is filled with discarded bottle caps from the local bars. Most are caked with rust due to being drenched with rain and urine. Freshmen in the Corps of Cadets collect caps from this location to use as parody spurs ("Fish Spurs") for their footwear.

The Dixie Chicken, usually called just "The Chicken", serves up some beer and hamburgers. It's a little dirty inside, but this just adds to the ambiance. Tabletops feature 50 years of patrons' names carved into them. It is customary for students who have recently acquired their school ring to christen the ring by dropping it into a glass of beer and chugging. This is called "Drinking the Ring". More than a few Aggie Rings have passed through the digestive tracks of their owners this way.

Duddley's exists as a less hickish alternative to Dixie Chicken. Bikers descend on this place, particularly on Thursday nights.
